June 2026 Fishing Report
We are rolling right along with some great late spring fly fishing on the Caney Fork River! With the much needed rain these past few weeks along with the 250 cfs minimal flow that was put in effect June 1st, the fish are happy and are eagerly eating. With that being said, we are seeing some bug activity as well with minnow mayflys, sulphers, midges and Caddis. Slow long drifts have been the key. Drift to the fish (don’t cast to the fish) and you will be surprised on how the fish react.
We are also starting to see some terrestrial activity, so break out those hoppers and beetles!
Nymphs:
Prince nymphs size 16-18
Pheasant tails size 16-18
Hares ear size 16-18
Sulpher nymphs size 16-18
Caddis nymphs size 16-20
Dry flies:

I have a few weekdays in June, July and August for guided fly fishing on the Caney Fork River. If you are wanting to try something new, Striped bass, smallmouth and carp have been a great way to branch out and are all fun species to target this time of year.
